Excited for: Beauty Products

It all started with a simple Gaga lipstick. I loved the packaging, I loved the feel and most of all I loved the cause. This past season MAC released two lipsticks named after Cyndi Lauper and mega star Lady Gaga. Each purchase of their lipsticks goes to the Viva Glam foundation. Needless to say that was enough of an excuse to buy both lipsticks. From then on my very boring make-up routine now received a little boost.

So here is a picture of my recent beauty buys. It includes the compact by MAC in Collaboration with Disney. LimeCrime lipstick, Hello Kitty for Mac, Heatherette for Mac, Liberty of London for Target, Rimmel London lipstick, Coco Rouge Chanel lipstick. 509 Paradoxical Chanel nail polish, Mean in Green Mac nail polish , Forever 21 nail polish, Revlon nail polish and Sally Hansen Back to the Fuschia nail polish.

Up next, Wonder Woman and MAC. :D My love for fashion and make up has combined. Also, Topshop make up will be bought soon. As soon as I get a job. Grrr

Oops, I did it Again.

Yeah, I just quoted Britney. But only because I really mean it. I started a blog, posted a few things and left it to wander in the vast abysmal of the blogosphere. I am ashamed, I do apologized, I will try to not do it again. Yet I will totally pull a religious freak because I apologize for doing something which I totally know I will do again. So please, bare with me.

So started third semester of college with low expectations and a really really bad attitude, such attitude in fact has cost me very low grades now that I think about it. But that's another story, I'm working on fixing that actually. But without further ado, I will now proceed to post at a regular pace.

Now I leave you with the highlights of days past.

Watching The Shining for the first time with my friend Rafa and being an idiot at the Classic Film Festival.
Enjoying my family for my brother's wedding.
Getting back with the love of my life.

Trying out my new Nikon and realizing I am still a horrible photographer.
Exploring something new and exciting every day =D
And finally, getting accepted into State :D!!!

I see these pictures and I realize how happy I am and who I do and do not need in my life. I cannot wait to start a new chapter in January, so exciting!

My True Mexican Colors

I am feeling a wierd desire to travel to Mexico City (i.e. Distrito Federal). I long for those walks where every street corner has a story. People really fail to see the beauty to this amazing place and I really hate it. This stigma that Mexico is just a lazy corrupt country makes me want to murder people. Love this amazing place.

Lovez, love d.f. Wish I could visit now. I really love the way that peasant old woman wear. You know the typical fashions.?

The city where I live in, Ciudad Juarez, for as long as I can remember has been deemed as and unsafe city with unusual killings of woman. Now, since 2008 mass murderers occur about every 3 hours, sometimes even more. So usually one tends to forget the beauty that a city holds. I have lived no where else in my life than in this place and it pains me so much to see it suffer. I have always known I do not belong here and that I will eventually leave yet people cannot fathom the love I hold for my city. I hope to one day return and help to restore it to its beauty.

Here, mediocre photos of the typical Mexican folklore, one so rare in this Americanized city that when witnessing it is so rare and beautiful that you enjoy it no matter how ugly it is.

The September Issues

Last week I traveled to Dallas and in the hopes of killing time in the 12 hour ride I bought many magazines.

I just put my friends Poppy Coach Wallet because I like how it looked with my new nail polish

But the stupid bus had its light off or probably didn't work!! So I didn't read them! I was so mad. My best friend bought some other 2 magazines which is probably why you don't think there is to many of them.

It wasn't a problem though, I love magazines way to much. In fact my reading has deteriorated because of them which is something I am not proud of.

In my extensive readings I have concluded that I need the following:
  • Tucker by Gaby Basora for Target yellow dress.
  • Utilitarian boots
  • Brown oxfords
  • More lipsticks (I'm obsessed now)
  • Camel leather shorts
And let me just say I am veryyy keen to shop :)

So helping this blog is my trusty beautiful journal given to me by my very random sister in law. It was her bridal shower and she decided to give me this journal.

It's so pretty I love it! With it my Distroller pens. They are so colorful and Mexican inspired. And in my favorite pen shape, I hope I don't loose one (though I lost the pink one already =/  ) But yes, in here I write every thought that I am curious of and ideas for this blog. Blog meet Journal, Journal meet blog. Now love each other!

Bye!

Talking 'Bout My Generation

This past weekend I visited the great metropolitan city of Dallas Texas to visit my friend for almost 15 years. 3 friends and I decided to embark this amazing journey through the cheapest mode of transportation:

(The one we traveled in was probably a model a few years older than this one)

Yes, we are so stupid that we decided to ride a 13 hour bus to Dallas (the time on a car is 10 hours). And let me just say that the entire ride was a torture. Kids screaming, people who don't wash their hands after going to the restroom, people hooking up.

That's right, people hooking up in a bus. Can you believe it? There we were witnessing to strangers having to sit together due to lack of seats and next thing we know they wake up in the most intimate of circumstances. God I was shocked, the entire trip was just a slap to the face of how insane my generation is.

You see, I have this deep theory that I was supposed to be born in 1950 but accidentally got sent 41 years into the future to 1991. So I regard this whole generation as lost and judge it as if I belong to another. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I was never even a second thought when the Beatles played in their rooftop.

So as this trip took place I am now scared of what future generations hold. Here, the things I despise about my generation.

The Dancing

According to Historyworld.net  probably the first purposes of dancing was due to performing rituals. Since then dancing has very much evolved (obviously). During the colonial periods it was considered immoral and illegal. And in Britain during the nineteenth century (my favorite era + place) it was the most important form of meeting people and most importantly your possible future spouse. But I wan to talk about dancing in the last 60 years.

So I began writing this post with the purpose of illustrating how dirty dancing is now so common and how it wasn't before. But damn was I wrong.

So according to a history website dirty dancing was very common with the Egyptians. It was a sort of foreplay to having sex. Some couples that wanted to conceive would go to the temple and witness these "rituals" thinking that they would become more civilized. So I was wrong in thinking this  is a new "trend." This has been going on forever. In the 1700's and 1800's these acts were reserved for whore houses and in private, then the first strip tease bar surfaced in France.

But what now is common as grinding in the dance floor has origins in a popular for named "the Bump." But many attribute this style to some grinding style of dancing found in the Lambada craze popular in Brazil. From then on things changed right to a middle school dance floor.  It's so disturbing, a guy literally grabbed me and expected me to dance,  then he dissed me and nodded and walked away! I was so appalled. Oh well, I really hate that dancing, I thought I would love it but man was I wrong. Here, a link teaching how to properly dance in the correct manner.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-cOEgF5MYI

So that was one thing, the same night I witnessed these atrocious dancing acts I saw something that was worse. A girl lap dancing a stranger with her vagina hanging out. Yes, her vagina. I could not believe it. The girl was sober!!!

So after having a heart attack at all the visuals I decided that my generation truly is lost. I mean, who wears shorts, tshirts and flip flops to go out? Or semi-prom dresses to "grind". I am worried for the future generations. But oh well. There goes my rant. Good bye!

What I Burned : August 9, 2010

Just came back from Dallas with the girlfriends :) Precisely because of that the shopping was limited but sweet.

Didn't buy a whole lot, I am really trying to limit my purchases. And really, if you know me you will agree when I say that I didn't overspend.

Missing is an Alice Temperly dress for Target. I own a piece of every Target collaboration and the one I owe from that collection is starting to not fit. Also it was black and am very much in need of an endless array of black dresses.

In the center is a BCBG jacket I got for $50 dollars at the outlet-ish mall in Dallas. I wear black blazers with literally every piece available. If it wasn't so damn hot where I lived I would wear my tiny summer blazer, but even that would make me sweat buckets. So I decided to "invest" and just buy this. I don't really like spending much money in clothes anymore. Unless it's insanely beautiful, an investment piece or from a markdown from a favorite designer (the latter has never really happened). So I just bought it and lets see how the cut looks on my dresses.

I'm dying for some brown oxfords and I found these. They are so weird and cool but I still don't think they can replace a classic brown one, I might still have to buy the others ones. But yeah, I'm rambling haha these are from Urban Outfitters and I love how I can wear them in the summer and in the winter with tights.

The suspenders have been in my wish list since I was 11 dying to be like Avril Lavigne but for some reason had never gotten around to buying them. I was carrying a huge pile of clothes in the Buffalo Exchange store and got all excited when I saw them. I also saw these Alexander Wang knockoffs for 7 dollars that I've been dying over for so I HAD to buy them.  So by them time I arrived to the cashier and had filtered my selection I only had the suspenders, sunglasses and Temperly dress in my hand.

But I ended the trip with TOMS :D I've wanted some since 2007 but never had the money for them. Now everyone has them and I feel like I'm just following the crowd. Mnehh I'll manage to wear them differently =)

I'm off to Oklahoma, Dallas and San Antonio next, let's see what I find =)

What I Burned : August 05, 2010.

So I have a problem with money. I get it, I spend it. I get more, I spend it some more. Money hates me, it just does not like to be with me. It prefers to be exchanged for prettier things and for that I do not blame it.

I hope that through this medium I can document everything I buy and remember to not buy the next idle thing I see the next time I enter a store.

I just came back from a trip to Guadalajara and I hauled back a lot of clothes. But that is in the past so I will not document it. For now here is my before trip shopping.

I bought me some boyfriend jeans :D Shyeahhh I don't know why I didn't do this before. They are so my style, comfy as hell and menswear like. I paired it with a blazer and lady like flats to off set so much manliness. The bag is new from Zara and I love it. But my favorite part is the Transformers shirt :D:D You can see Optimus Prime peeking out. I am suuuch a geek. I am looking for another Avengers shirt with Iron Man and Fantastic Four in it. I think the only way to find one is going to the comic-con.

I cover my face not because I am trying to be cool but because I am so shiteous looking at the moment that the camera might break. It's so terrible at taking pictures that it might do it just to do me a favor. Ugh I wish.

Lord Almighty, Feel My Temperature Rising.

So my dad recently celebrated his birthday. And in celebration, my brother bought him the ultimate gift.
Yes, that's right. An Elvis bluray. You should have seen his face. It was priceless. His admiration for him is so obvious. He told me that the famous ring that I grew up with that had his initials ALG, was modeled after the one The King had.

Trust me, the picture doesn't do it justice. It is more ridiculously awesome in person. I will wear it everyday once its mine.

The film takes place during the 70's when he was falling more and more into depression so his weight is increasing as well as his extravagance.

Seeing all these ridiculous jumpsuits being sported in such a way that they actually looked good made me want to get a jacket similar to his. Of course they all end up look like last years military style jacket. I love the trend but it's to Sgt. Pepper/Michael Jackson so I want something with lots of stars and perhaps a cape.

Of course I looked on many websites and none are selling items like Elvis, they seem to have be in the simple green army jacket, sequins seem to be last season's thing. So the only thing I could similarly find was a jacket in Topshop but with a price way out of my league. It's called the Coin Hessian Jacket and I adore it. It reminds me of a King's server in Abu Dhabi or something. Perhaps I will purchase it later when I have a job. =)

But what I loved most about the movie was the audience.

It's outstanding to me that no matter how euphorically crazed the girls would get at seeing they're idol onstage, would look impeccable. And I mean it, not just simply dressed well no, these girls had amazing hair, shoes and makeup.

So at the moment I am feeling very inspired with the whole sixties/seventies fashion. I hate orange but I love how it looks with red, very retro. I saw a picture of that today with Tucker for Target clothes. I'm suck a sucker for these lines. I am a proud owner of at least one piece of every line in the Target collaborations. I will keep this up forever I promise you that.

So I bid adieu with a preview of Tucker for Target brought to you by shefinds.com

Starting a new blog, again.

It's horrible. I don't know how many blogs I have started with the hopes of turning it into a daily thing and with a huge following. Apparently I do not have consistency in what I do. Not even what I love. Ugh! So frustrating. But no, this time I will do it differently. I will force myself to post at least 20 new entries before this becomes public. So, in the interest of not doing what I always do with "my first posts" and give a long detailed explanation of who I am, what I want, and how I will "see the world" I will just give a short introduction of myself. :)

My name is Stephania and I am from both Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico and El Paso, Texas United States. I have an obsession with fashion and am in love with seeing new things. Hopefully next semester I will transfer to a new school where I can submerge myself in what I love.

So basically this is my blog. To much things running around my mind to accurately define who I am, what I like etc. So while this might entertain you this serves more as a form of self discovery. What follows? Enjoy I guess? If so, go right ahead.
